On Sunday, March 21st, I was in charge of setting up all the audiovisual equipment, interpretation booths, and hiring the Portuguese and French interpreters for a global meeting between unions. There were union delegates from Brazil, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Germany, Australia, the United States, and Canada. Their common bond (other than solidarity) was their employer, Vale Inco. I believe that the 3-day meeting/union rally was a success. The interpreters have made life-long friends with the delegates that they were helping, and the rally showed up on virtually every major newspaper in Canada. I wish this client well, as the experience was one that I will remember forever.
